The National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA), founded in 1982, is the national association of professionals working to finance affordable housing in the broader community development context at the local level. As a non-profit association, NALHFA is an advocate before Congress and federal agencies on legislative and regulatory issues affecting affordable housing and provides technical assistance and educational opportunities to its members and the public. Members are city and county agencies, non-profits, and private firms, such as underwriters, consultants, financial advisers, bond counsel, and rating agencies, which help in producing housing from concept to completion. Our MissionNALHFA's mission is to provide leadership in the field of affordable housing finance and to deliver quality services to our members. Our VisionNALHFA's vision is to be the premier national association of local government housing agencies advancing the interests of our members and providing leadership in the field of affordable housing finance. Our LeadershipNALHFA is governed by a Board of Directors, including five officers. We strive to make our Board a reasonably accurate reflection of the membership so that it includes representatives from the regular member agencies in locations characterized by a wide range of demographic and socioeconomic conditions. The President appoints members to a variety of committees to assist in conducting NALHFA business.
