Mark Schmidt, CFA
Executive Director, Morgan Stanley

Mark Schmidt, CFA, is an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley and leads Municipal Strategy Research. His team has ranked in both the Institutional Investor and Smith’s All-Star awards. He has over a decade of experience in municipal securities and broader fixed income markets. Mark began his career as a fixed income specialist for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Additionally, he worked as a trading desk credit analyst. Mark earned his MBA from Columbia University and his BS in International Economics from Georgetown University. He is a member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York, CFA Institute, and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

Gregg Colburn is an Associate Professor in the Runstad Department of Real Estate in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington. He publishes research on topics related to housing and homelessness and is co-author of the book, Homelessness is a Housing Problem: How Structural Factors Explain U.S. Patterns (University of California Press). His research has been featured in leading media outlets, including The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Economist, Bloomberg, and National Public Radio.
